In this article, we’d be showing you how to hide your lace wig mesh using the Band-Aid method while slaying your part. Even though there are other options like tinting your lace with a knot sealer or foundation, the Band-Aid method is best for achieving a more realistic looking part, while hiding the holes, grids, and knots on your frontal lace, lace wig or closure quite well.
The things you need
- Tweezers
- T-pins
- Lift or pick comb
- Toothbrush
- Concealer brush
- Skin matched concealer
- Styrofoam mannequin head
- Silicone scar sheets
Step 1: Drop the lace wig on the Styrofoam mannequin head and choose where you want to insert your part. Using the pick or lift comb, tidy up your part by separating the hair.
Step 2: Pluck out the hair strands going down your part with a tweezer. You should pluck out just a few of them at once to make your parting clearly defined. If you remove 2-4 hair strands at once as you progress backwards, it will not tear the lace, and will be just enough to make a clear definition. You shouldn’t apply unnecessary force and should use caution whole doing this.
Step 3: It is time to get your box of Silicone scar sheets. Flip the hair piece inside out and put it back on the mannequin. Considering this product can be a bit expensive, it is helpful to know that each piece would go a long way, lasting through a shampoo in some cases. You can double the number (12 to a box at times) by splitting the sheet in half. Carefully peel and stick directly on the lace.
Always remember that the sheet should be stuck down on the lace about 2-3 millimeters back from the edge where the baby hair meets the excess lace you will be cutting off, so that you can properly blend your hairline after.
Step 4: The moment it is on, flip the wig over the correct way and using a toothbrush, brush the hair away from the part to get it tidy.
Step 5: Touch things up with your Perfect Line Swiss concealer and blend your part to match your complexion. Going forwards and backwards along the part, simply apply concealer on the part one step at a time until you are pleased and it has blended well. When you are done, the holes and grids will look quite well hidden.
